I am thrilled with this book. As someone who strongly identifies with the Anabaptist / Baptist heritage, I found this book to be fascinating. I have found that reading a short historical account from the Baptist heritage each day helps me stay focused on the things of God. The book contains historical information from all aspects of the Baptist heritage including the English Baptists, the Swiss Brethren, Menno Simons and the early Mennonites and more. This book is obviously a labor of love from someone dedicated to spreading the wonderful history of Biblical Christianity.
Very informative and contains a lot of good research. Welcome addition to my library.
Crammed full of detailed biographical information, this well-researched and well-documented volume is a joy to read. Those with serious biblical convictions will appreciate the costly stand for the truth of so many missionaries, pastors, and others represented in this excellent book.
For anyone interested in Baptist history, this book is a must. A daily devotional, each day starts with a Scripture reading to accompany a very enligtening and inspiring historical reading or events involving pioneers and missionaries, preachers, etc. Many thrilling stories as well as sad ones, and alarming ones that show the hate and prejudice against the Word of God and Baptist beliefs. If you're an independent fundamentalist Baptist, you'll be truly blessed, and educated, reading this fine book. And it's just a "sampler" in reality because there are many, many great Baptist history books in the biblography if you want more. I highly recommend it, it's been a great day-starter for me.
I had this devotional before, but unfortunately, it got lost in a move. If you're a Baptist and want to learn of your history, this is a good book to do it with.
